Home Bargains Goodies!

I love home bargains! The nearest home bargains is 2 bus journeys away so its not a shop that's visited as regularly as I'd like. Here's what I've picked up recently...

The Little Bubble Co. shower gels - 49p each

These smell amazing! I picked up the mango delight first but couldn't resist getting the strawberry sundae too. They have extra 'scrubby bits' and foam up nicely.

Babyliss hair accessories - 39p each

These hair grips usually retail for around  £3-£5 at Boots so at 39p they really are a bargain. They had 2 big baskets full of different hair accessories, sadly i didn't have much time to look through them because of my little monster running wild round the shop. Hopefully they'll still have loads next time i visit.

Betty Crocker whoopie pie mix - 99p
I've never tried whoopie pies so thought id give these a go.

Neutrogena Multi-Defence Daily Moisturiser - £2.99

The thing that appealed to me about this moisturiser is that it is SPF25. I've been wearing this the past few days in this wonderful weather and so far its great. It does smell like sun cream but it soaks into skin well and doesn't leave you with that shiny look.

Easy Nails Fast & Fruity Nail Polish Remover - 89p

I've seen this nail varnish remover on a number of occasions while browsing the shop. I never picked one up because i imagined it to be really messy to use. I had visions of smeared nail varnish over all my fingers. Since reading great reviews for the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover It seems the twisting a finger in a soaked sponge thing isn't so messy after all! Fingers crossed this cheap version works just as well!

Does anyone else have a Home Bargains nearby?
Anything I should look out for on my next visit?

First post!

I've had this wooden bookcase sat around for a while. It didn't really have a purpose and didn't fit in with anything in our rooms, so i decided to jazz it up a bit. As i needed more space for my crafty things i thought it would look great on top of my desk. After some thinking and measuring, i took the middle shelf out. Its now a perfect fit for my sewing machine!
I forgot to take a before pic but here it is after a few coats of white gloss.

I had some gift wrap that has little Russian dolls all over that I loved so using double sided tape I put it all along the back of the bookcase.

And here it is finished...

It now sits on my desk holding my sewing machines and small storage boxes. As its not that deep I still have loads of room to work on the desk itself!
